Introduction of Six Sigma _ Understanding 6σ #1

σ is a Greek letter, denoting standard deviation.
   - Transliterated into English as "s“
   - Measure of data distribution or spread (standard deviation)
   - Index measuring process/work capability

The relation between σ and quality
   - σ level is a unit of statistical measurement, used to illustrate
      the quality of a process.
   - A work process with a higher sigma level has far fewer defects.

Quality corresponds to customer satisfaction and σ levels describe how well the variation in a process meets the customers' requirements

6σ resolves the problem by focusing the factors causing the problem.
